QuavBox Video Encoder

QuavBox is a video encoder device for the acquisition and the encoding of audio and video signals for live distribution over the Internet. It is compatible with the QuavStreams video platform and with other popular live streaming platforms. It also performs live recording on the local storage for later use. It is available in Rack and Mini (portable) variant.

Audio/video acquisition

QuavBox Video Encoder allows to capture raw video and audio signals through HDMI, SDI, and Analog connections.

Source transcoding

The encoder can transcode remote sources accessible through HTTP, FTP, RTP, RTSP, RTMP, and TCP/UDP protocols.

Multi-level encoding

QuavBox allows real-time encoding of up to 5 video quality levels concurrently. The encoder is designed for adaptive live streaming over HLS and DASH.

Encoding formats

QuavBox supports H.264/VP8 video codecs, AAC/Vorbis audio codecs, and MPEG-TS, MP4 and WebM containers. Other formats are currently in beta, including 4K video with H.265 and VP9.

Remote control

The encoder can be accessed via web through a dashboard on any modern browser on Desktop (PC) and Mobile (Android, iOS).

Compatibility

The encoded content can be sent to remote video streaming platforms (e.g. Wowza, Facebook Live, YouTube) using RTMP, or to cloud services such as Amazon S3 and Google Cloud Storage.

QuavBox (Rack)

  • Rack unit version (1U) of QuavEncoder, for stable installations with ethernet 10/100/1000 connection.

QuavBox (Mini)

  • Portable version with Mini-ITX form factor. Equipped with WiFi and optional 3G/4G mobile card and Solid State (SSD) disk unit.

Note: both models can be equipped with Blackmagic® Decklink and Intensity capture cards.
